    Derivative of applications

    A helicopter is flying along a path given by y = 120 - .015x^2, such that Vx = 16 m/s.

    Find Y at x-54m which I found at 76.26 m.
    Then it says find Vy at x=54m.
    I did the derivative dy/dt = -.03x where X is 54, and I get an answer of -1.62, but the answer is suppose to be Vy = -25.92.

    What am I doing wrong here??
    HELP
    Thanks

    You're doing several things wrong:

    1) Your message is rather sloppy;

    2) You use a very cumbersome, unexplained, notation. Explain what you mean by Vx, Vy

    and enhance the clearity and exactness of your writing, and perhaps then

    someone will be able to help you.
