Hi - hopefully just a quickie here: Is this question a matter of implicit differentiation: y + 2xsin(y) = e^x And does it differentiate to: dy/dx + 2x*dy/dx*cos(y) + 2sin(y) = e^x Thanks in advance

Yes, and if you want $\displaystyle \displaystyle\frac{dy}{dx}$, just factor it out $\displaystyle \displaystyle\frac{dy}{dx}\left(1+2xCosy\left)=e^x-2Siny$ $\displaystyle \displaystyle\frac{dy}{dx}=\frac{e^x-2Siny}{1+2xCosy}$
