Find the value of b if the vertical line x=b divides the region between y=16-2x, x-axis and y-axis into equal areas.

i got the area between 0 and 8 to be 64 but from there i am lost.

Define $g(y)= \int_0 ^y (16-2x)dx$ and put $A=g(8)$ be the total area. Now just solve $g(y)=\frac{1}{2}A$ which should be a quadratic in $y$.
