# Integration? Looks simple enough? Literally

Integration? Looks simple enough? Literally
x^(2)/(x+1)

I'm needing to figure out the integral of this, its on my practice final, and it looks really simple at first but I cant figure it out. Anyone able to shed some light on this?

${x^2 \over x+1} = {(x+1)(x-1) + 1 \over x+1} = x-1 + {1\over x+1}$

Long division gives:

$\int \frac{x^2}{x+1} = \int (\frac{1}{x+1} +x-1)$
