Math Help - Finding e using integrals.

    Finding e using integrals.

    I'm having lots of trouble trying to prove that log(e) = 1 using intergrals

    I set up my integral as such:
    2.7
    ∫ 1/x dx
    1

    and i know that it is approximately 1 but i can't figure out the steps in between.
    any help would be VERY appreciated

    It impossible to prove a definition. From the title of your post I infer that your text uses integrals to define the logarithm and e. That has become standard in many modern textbooks. In the attached pdf file you can see how that works. However, if that is not what you need the you must post the definitions you have to use.
