given a vector field V(x,y,z) = (xi + yj + zk)/r^3 where r = (x^2+y^2+z^2)^(1/2) is the distance from the point P from the origin.

What are the x y and z components of V?

and the partial derivatives of each component?

The x component is the coefficient of the vector i, the y component is the coefficient of the vector j, and the z component is the coefficient of the vector k (at least in standard usage).

thanks.. such an easy solution!
