Note: Answer on the back of the book is, 10/root(2) and 5/root(2)
I need the complete explanation (all the work).

First of all, you shouldn't be demanding for all the work. It is the policy of MHF to provide help to the people who ask for it, provided that they have shown some effort.

Second, your question doesn't make much sense at the moment.

Is the rectangle supposed to be inscribed in the semicircle?

I'm really sorry for the way i worded my Question...I just meant to say that I really really need the work...thanks
I typed the question as it is in the book....so even I'm confused...but the final answer is 10/root2 and 5/root2...so if u get this answer then the rectangle is probably inscribed in the semicircle..

Prove It's point was not the way you worded the question but the fact that you showed no work of your own. If you set this up on a coordinate system with the center of the semicircle at (0, 0), what would its equation be? What would the coordinates of the vertices of rectangle be?
