Derivative: x in denominator and in exponent

Hey everyone,

I'd like to find the extrema of a function (setting the 1st derivative to zero if my high school maths doesn't fail me here...).

Anyhow, one term in this function is

$<br /> \frac{1}{2^x}<br />$

...and I have no clue what the derivative of that is!

Any help would be really appreciated!

use $a^{x}=e^{xln(a)}$

Derivative of 1/ $2^x$ = - ln2/ $2^X$
