    Average value of a function

    • Let the function f be defined as
      F(x) = ((x^2)-1)/((x^2)+1)
      Calculate the average of f, avg (f), on the interval [0,2]

    • Find the average of the function f(x)=x-(x^3)

    The average value of a function f(x) over the interval [a, b] is \frac{1}{b - a} \int_a^b f(x) \, dx.
