# Thread: Problem with an integral

1. ## Problem with an integral

The integral is $\int{\frac{1-3*x}{3+2*x}}dx$.

According to Maple I should first rewrite it as $\frac{-3}{2} + \frac{11}{2}\frac{1}{3 + 2*x}$ and then solve it.
My problem is that I don't know how to rewrite it, after that I can solve it (I know how to use the rules for integration) but how to get there?
I would like a method which works all the time.

when the degree of the numerator $\ge$ the degree of the denominator, perform long division.

3. Problem solved.

If I have a question about another integral, should I then post it in the same topic or make a new topic for it?
