    Project help

The table gives the daily consumption of oil in the United States, in millions of barrels, measured in two-year intervals, from the beginning of 1987 to the beginning of 2007.

Use Simpson’s Rule to estimate the average daily consumption of oil over the period in question.

    Year-Consumption
    1987-16.7
    1989-17.3
    1991-16.7
    1993-17.2
    1995-17.7
    1997-18.6
    1999-19.5
    2001-19.6
    2003-20.0
    2005-20.8
    2007-20.7

The first thing I'd do is plot the data and draw the trapezia. Then I'd apply Simpson's Rule. Then I'd say that if you need more help, please say where you're still stuck.

I have already told you what to do. What part of what I said do you not understand? If you need more help you will need to be specific in what you cannot do.
