A question regarding derivative in respect to instantaneous and average rate of chang

Hey! I sort of have an idea of what this question is asking, but just wanted to make sure.

    1) Describe each of the following expressions as the average or instantaneous rate of change of f, specifying the interval or point.

ex: [f(5)-f(3)]/[5-3]--> would this one be average rate of change and interval (3,5)? I am not sure, but if someone could confirm that would be great.

    thx in advance!
