Thread: Laplace Transforms

The Laplace transform of f(x) is [20/((s-1)(s+4))]. Find f(x).

This seems easy enough and I have done some practicing with the Laplace transforms and finding their inverse, but I cannot figure out how to manipulate the denominator so that I can use one of the known functions. Any help before class tomorrow would be great! Thank you!!

Partial fraction decomposition: 20/((s-1)(s+4)) = 4/(s-1) - 4/(s+4).
