    Complex Numbers

    z = (5 - 4 i)(7 - 7 i)
    Re(z) = ?

    What does the question mean by Re(z) and Im(z)? And how do I find them?

    Re(z)=real part of z.
    Im(z)=imaginary part of z.

    If z=a+bi then Re(z)=a and Im(z)=b.

    Firstly, you need to get the form a+bi.
