Find the equation of the curve which passes through the point (1,8) given that its gradient function is 2x+5.
What equation?
How do i find that equation I am sooo stuck.
Thanks
Why is this in pre-calculus. You have used the term differentiation which makes it calculus.
If the gradient is 2x+5 the curve has equation y=x^2+5x+c for some constant c. You are told that it passess through (1,8) which will allow you to find c.
Yes, but if its taught as the inverse process of differentiation (and integration as such has not been taught) calling it anti-differentiation makes some sort of sense to some educationalists.
