    Help with floor function

    Define . Sketch the graph of g(x) for .

    Evaluate the integral


    I know what the graph of the floor function of x looks like. I just don't know how to apply it here. And I really don't know where to start with the integral. To be honest, I don't remember learning about the floor function in Calc 1-3.

    Just use the fact that the integral is the area under the curve. In this case that's just the area of a rectangle, and you don't need calculus to find the area of a rectangle!
