    whats d^2y/dx^2?

    d^2y/dx^2 is this a derivative of a derivative? Thanks

    yes

    \frac{d}{dx}\left(\frac{dy}{dx}\right) = \frac{d^2y}{dx^2}

    Many people get this notation confused to have something to do with squaring the derivative. It is exactly what the other they said.
