    Hyperbolic Functions

    Hey,

Would learning the definitions/derivatives/integrals etc of the Hyperbolic trig functions be a good prerequisite for the first year of a UK maths degree?

    Thanks

Hyperbolic functions will probably be covered as a small part of any 1st year undergraduate course.

I don't think it would particularly set you up to be very far ahead, but learning it now can't hurt.

Not really, but reading one or other (or both) of:

"Mathematics:A very short introduction" by Tim Gower

"Foundations of Mathematics" by Ian Stewart and David Tall.

    will be.
