    Areas in the plane (Calculus)

    Hi. Can anyone help me with this problem?

    Find the area of the regions enclosed by the lines and curves with respect to y.
    1. y^2 - 4x = 4 and 4x - y = 16

    Thanks.

    Hello, turtle!

    Find the area of the regions enclosed by the line and curve with respect to y.
    . . y - 4x = 4 .and .4x - y = 16
    Code:
              5+                      *
               |                ....*
               |            *:::::*
               |      *:::::::::*
               |  *:::::::::::*
               *::::::::::::*
             *:|::::::::::*
          --*-:+:-:-:-:-*--------------
             *:|::::::*
               *::::*
             -4+  *
               |*     *
              *|            *
            *  |                    *

    The graphs intersect at: y = -4, 5.

    Solve each equation for x: . x .= .y - 1, . x .= .y + 4

    . . . . . . . . . . . . .5
    The integral is: .
    [(y + 4) - (y - 1)] dy
    . . . . . . . . . . . .-4

    He has a template (like graph paper) in notepad where....

    It's too long too explain and there's a post on here that I forget the title on and can not find which explains everything!
