# Math Help - very simple intergral setup question

1. ## very simple intergral setup question

It has been many years since i did integrals and I simply do not remember- need this for probability though.

If i am intergrating from x=.25 to x=.75 does the .25 go on the bottom and .75 on top- then once i integrate the equation, i put in the values for x and then i add them or subtract them? I dont remember this part- what comes first and if i add them or subtract them.

For example:

Int 4x^3 from .25 to .75

4* 1/4x^4=x^ from .25 to .75
.25^4 then is it + or - .75^4 and which one goes first, the .75 or the .25?

I know this is probably the silliest question ever.

the bigger one i.e 0.75 goes on top and the smaller one i.e 0.25 goes at the bottem of the integral and so the x=0.75 goes first and x=0.25 goes second . Hence evalute your intergal at x=0.75 first and then evalute your intergal at x=0.25 and subtract it from each other.
