Can anyone show me how to find the horizontal and oblique asymptotes for

$\displaystyle f(x)=\frac{x^2-1}{x-1}$. Any help would be appreciated!

EDIT: My issue is that f(x) can be simplified to x+1, which should be the slant asymptote, right? But my book says that no asymptotes exist... This is why I'm having an issue.
