    silly question - does cos^2 x = (cos x)^2

    That is the whole silly question

    Does cos^2 x = (cos x)^2

    I guess I am getting tired b/c even the easy ones are confusing me.

    yes ...

    \cos^2{x} = (\cos{x})^2 = (\cos{x})(\cos{x})
