Please tell me what is the domain and range for the following modulus function and plz explain why?

Well let me ask you something. If I asked you to find the domain of...hmm...IDK say $\displaystyle f(x)=\frac{1}{x}$ or $\displaystyle f(x)=\frac{-1}{x}$ could you do it?
For the range, just think about it $\displaystyle f(-x)=f(x)$ so you only need to consider the range on $\displaystyle (0,\infty)$ (why?) But on $\displaystyle (0,\infty)$ whati s $\displaystyle |x|$ more commonly known as?
