    concept of the second derivative test


    The second derivative test doesn't apply because f"(c) has to be < or > for there to be a max or a min -> option 3. So based on them counting it wrong, there could be a max or min? How could that be?

    If f''(c) = 0 then there is not enough information to make a judgement.
