# Math Help - concept of the second derivative test

1. ## concept of the second derivative test

The second derivative test doesn't apply because $f"(c)$ has to be < or > for there to be a max or a min $->$ option 3. So based on them counting it wrong, there could be a max or min? How could that be?

If f''(c) = 0 then there is not enough information to make a judgement.
