    maximum volume?

    A cylinder is inscribed in a right circular cone of height 5 and radius (at the base) equal to 6. What are the dimensions of such a cylinder which has maximum volume?

    It would be helpful if you could specify in which part you are getting stuck since some people have trouble sketching, orthers setting up the function, etc.

    i am having trouble setting up the equation. well i thinks its V=pi*r^2((5*pi-30)/6)...but i dont know how to go about the rest of the problem.

    Try analyzing the sketch more carefully and if you used similar triangles you should get h= (30-5r)/6
