how do I derivative this: sqrt x

Well this is my attempt.
=x^1/2
=1/2 x^-1/2
=1/(1/2sqrtx).
I am stuck there.
Also is that right, please check.

You're almost right, but you got the $2$ in the wrong place on the last line:

$f(x) =x^{\frac12}$

$\Rightarrow f'(x) =\tfrac12 (x^{-\tfrac12})$

$=\frac{1}{2\sqrt{x}}$
