    Maximum/minimum values and saddle points

I have been having trouble working these two porblems out if someone can show me the procedures would be most helpful.

    1. f(x,y) = x^3y+12x^2-8y

    2. f(x,y) xe^-2x^2-2y^2

    Thanks for any help!

Are the instructions in the subject line? (Subject lines frequently do not relate to the post contents, so it's usually not wise to assume.)
