I really do not understand how to do these problems. They're dealing with the Mean Value Theorem:

1. f(x)-x+8; [2,4]

2. f(x)=x^2+5x+2; [-2,-1]

The formatting of Q1 makes it unintelligible. And for both, it's not clear what the actual question is. eg. Are you trying to illustrate the MVT for the two functions over the given intervals?

I'm trying to Use the Mean Value Theorem to find all possible values of c on the given interval.
