A region is bounded by y=1/2x - 3, by x=14 and the x-axis. Find the area of the region by

a) using the formula for the area of the triangle

making a sketch of the given graphs will make finding a solution rather simple.

actually i was unable to post the whole question, the graph is given in the question, but m still unable to find the base and height for the area of the triangle

$y = \frac{1}{2}x - 3$ crosses the x-axis at $x = 6$

triangle base is $14 - 6 = 8$

triangle height is $y(14) = 4$
