Thread: Need help finding c of an ilregular arc if thats the right phrase

Hi I need help. Below is an image of an arc. I know S and the angles of a and b. What I need to find is c. Can someone point me in the right direction.

I think you need to tell us more of what S is.

S = arc length
h = height at highest point
a and b = angles like the angles of a canon when calculating trajectory.

This has to do with an idea of a method FTL travel for a story I want to write. It goes along the lines of the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. since space is curved - that curve being s - then it would be better to go along c.
