word problem
I'm really not sure even where to start solving this problem so a fairly detailed explanation would be very helpful! thanks!
A plane is capable of flying at a speed of 180 km/h in still air. The pilot takes off from an airfield and heads due north according to the plane's compass. After 30 minutes of flight time, the pilot notices that, due to wind, the plane has actually traveled 80 km at an angle of 5 degrees east of north.
What is the wind velocity? and in what direction should the pilot have headed to reach the intended destination?

so the wind velocity is 25, but how would i find the direction the pilot should have flown?

Draw a diagram where the airspeed vector will be west of north.
add in the windspeed vector and draw the ground speed vector due north.
I'll let you answer it.
