Help with Question Clarification
I am working on my module for Uni Calculus and this is what the question is asking (my answers are in red):

f(x) = 2x^2 - 4x -5

(a) if it has a max value or min value: Min
(b) The value is ____. It occurs at x = 1

When it says "the value is" what is it asking for?

You're asked to give the minimal value of the function, i.e. $f(x_0)$ where $x_0$ is the minimum point. In your case, they're asking for the value of $f(1)$
