Math Help - Find equations...

    Find equations...

    that are tangent and normal to the graph of

    y = sin x + 3
    at x = pie

    How do I do this? I am not sure with trig functions.

    Take the derivative to get \cos x. Plug in x=\pi to get that the slope of the tangent line is -1. You are looking for a line with slope -1 that goes through the point (\pi,3).

    y-3=-(x-\pi)\implies y=-x+3+\pi
