    Negative Base with a Power

    Hello,

    Can someone help me with this: -x^2? Is it (-x)^2 or -(x^2)?

    -x^2=-(x^2)

    Remember order of operations: exponents before multiplication. -x^2 is the same as -1\times x^2.
