guys please help me with this problem, i am sooo confused

Find the intersection:

x+y+z=-1( negative 1)

x+y=5

The book says the answer is X=-t

Y=5+t

Z=-6

i dont know how!!

1)x+y+z=-1

2) x+y=5

The intersection of 2 planes is a line

subtract 1) - 2) to get z = -6

This leaves (if you plug in z = - 6)

1)x+y= 5

2) x+y=5

Which is true for all real numbers

Let x = t then y = 5 - t

So the parametric equations of the line is x= t y = 5- t z = -6
