this is quite a list of laundry to be done ... what effort have you made on any of these review problems?

please show some effort in order to get help.

for 5. i ended up with (x (7x^3 -5x^2-37x-35))/(x^4+5x^2-6) = 0..but that doesn't seem right
in 14 and 15 i don't know what the triangles mean
I have never graphed functions with restrictions like in 16 and 17
i think 13a. doesn't have a domain
i don't know what the symbols in 41-43 stand for

move the right fraction to the other side and cross-multiply ...

you should get $\textcolor{red}{7x^4 - 42x^2 - 35x = 0}$ after simplifying. you'll also get two nice solutions.

in 14 and 15 i don't know what the triangles mean

change $\textcolor{red}{\Delta x}$ to $\textcolor{red}{h}$ and work them.

I have never graphed functions with restrictions like in 16 and 17

#16 is a difference quotient ... note that $\textcolor{red}{f(x+h) = \frac{1}{x+h}}$

#17 are piecewise functions ... graph each piece for the x-values given. you should have graphed these in precalculus.

i think 13a. doesn't have a domain ... that is incorrect.

$\textcolor{red}{y = x^20}$ ... what values of x can you legally use?

i don't know what the symbols in 41-43 stand for

those are just piecewise functions like in #17 ... the bold garbage symbols are just that, garbage (big typos).
