    Exclamation vectors

    i am graphing objects by using level sets (setting z=a constant) and sections (setting x and y = a constant)

    i have to sketch..
    1.) f (x,y)= -2
    2.) g(x,y)= cosy
    3.) h(x,y)= 1-x

    any pointers/hints on how to do any of these? the first one doesn't have x or y so i wasn't sure what to do..thanks

    The first one is just a plane that intersects z at -2. Think about it, whatever x and y are, the point lies at z = -2, so it is a plane:

    The 2nd and third one must be dealt with using the following:

    z = g(x,y) = cos(y)

    So that:

    a = cos(y)

    and

    z = h(x,y) = 1-x

    So:

    a = 1 - x
