I have been wondering if there is any known way of converitng a decimal number into its exact fractional (possibly a word) value
i know you can type:
ctrl -> / and get a fraction and then input values, then ctrl enter to get a decimal, i was wondering if there was a way to reverse this so you can type in:
1.5 and get (from an unknown comand/s) 3/2
any help would be greatly apreichieeeeeeeated :D XD
in TI-nspire CAS, you can set the document settings to either auto, exact, or approximate. If it's set on either exact or auto, when you enter 1.5, it should give you 3/2 automatically. However, if it is set on approximate, or if for some reason auto is not doing it for you, then you can enter the following:
exact(1.5)
*to change the document settings, click ctrl-tools>file>document settings
