solving a problem using a TI-84
i need help solving a problem for my math homework. the problem is
24x^3 * 2x^2 + 6x
4x^2-36 16x^2
I am new to using the Ti-84 calculator and I cant figure out how to do the 24x^3 part

I assume that you want to simplify this product. Unfortunately a TI84 can only calculate values using numbers. So you have to do this problem by hand (and brain of course :D):

$\dfrac{24x^3}{4x^2-36} \cdot \dfrac{2x^2+6}{16x^2} = \dfrac{8x^2 \cdot 3x \cdot 2x(x+3)}{4(x+3)(x-3) \cdot 8x^2 \cdot 2}$

Cancel equal factors. As the final result I've got: $\dfrac{3x^2}{4(x-3)}$

thanks that is the right answer that they had in the back of the book. i just couldnt figure it out
