    Casio fx-100AU PLUS - Remainder

    Hi,

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to find the remainder following division using this calculator.

I am doing base conversions and need to show working by hand so if there is a quick way to find remainders that would be great.

    Kind regards

Re: Casio fx-100AU PLUS - Remainder

I am not familiar with that particular calculator.

One way to find the remainder is as follows. Take the example 20 divided by 7 = 2.857142857.......
Subtract the 2 (that's the integer numbers of times 7 goes into 20). Then multiply the decimal part by 7 to get 6. This is the remainder.

Another way, if you prefer, is to find 20 - (2*7) = 6.

Either way it's only a few calculations

    Hope that helps.
