Thread: How Do I Sequence Graph On TI-84

I use both a TI-89 and a TI-84. I can graph the recursive sequence on the TI-89 but not in the 84. I must be entering the sequence wrong.

In the TI-89 it is entered as follows:
u1=1.015825 * u1(n-1)
ui 1= 4000

It is graphing properly on the TI-89

The TI-84
nMin = What do I enter here?
u(n) = I will enter my recursive equation here
u (nMin) What do I enter here?

Can anyone help?

1. Set the TI84 into the SEQ-mode.

2.
nMin = the smallest value for n, best would be to start with n = 1
u(n) = that's OK. You know, that you have to type:
1.015825*(2nd) (7) ((APPS) -1)
The bold text in brackets mean the labels of the keys of the TI84
u (nMin) If I understand the "ui 1 = 4000" right then it is the start value.

Afterwards you have to adjust the window:
nMIN = 1
nMax = 50
PlotStart = 1
PlotStep = 1
Xmin = 16
Xmax = 16
Xscl = 1
Ymin = 3500
Ymax = 8000
Yscl = 500

Then I get a line. I don't know what you wanted to draw, but finally the TI84 draws at least something.
