Can somebody tell me how I can type math symbols here, like square root for example?

Also, how can I type the names of buttons from the TI-84+? I see that some of you can type rectangular buttons with names on them.

The formatting for the mathematics text is called LaTeX. There is an entire forum that will help you with that language. It really isn't too difficult, and you end up knowing most of it after a while:

$\displaystyle \sqrt{12}\times\sqrt{5}$
