    Ti 83 broken, how do I fix it?

    I have a Ti-83 that starts up but the screen is messed up when I turn it on- can I repair it somehow? thanks!

    well the screen only shows lines and boxes- I guess I could send it back to TI

    probably cheaper to buy a new 84 than repair an older 83 ... calculators these days are pretty much considered "consumable" items.

    so the Ti85 will do all the graphing and stuff I need for science/engineering classes?

    It should do, it might be a good idea to check their website for its capabilities. You should also check what calculator you are allowed in your class and exams...
