Thread: Calculator giving me wrong answer

Hello, I am having issues with following along with the example problems for my homework. When I try to evaluate with my calculator, the answer is different from what the answer in the example states.



I need to plug in t=.5 into the formula s(t)=29sin2t

The example states:
s(.5) = 29sin2(.5)
=24.40266

But I keep getting 13.184812689

One problem is that you don't know how to multiply 2 times .5

s(.5) = 29sin[2*.5] = 29sin(1) = 24.4

I see, I entered it wrong into the calculator and it interpreted it as (29sin2) *(.5) instead of 29sin[2*.5]. Thanks pal!
