I've been able to do this before, but for some reason this isn't working. d(x^3 - 2x + 4,x) i get "Error: Dimension" does anyone have any ideas as to why? i also get the same error if i try (integral) S(2x,x)

If so, you will need to 'clear a-z'.
ah, ok. i had x stored as a matrix, didn't know it was a problem to do that, and didn't know about the "clear a-z" option i've got it figured out now though, thank you.
