# Math Help - [SOLVED] Performing Series Functions on a Ti-84+

1. ## [SOLVED] Performing Series Functions on a Ti-84+

I was wondering if the Ti-84+ is capable of performing basic summing problems, and if so, how to enter the problem.
For example how would i enter:
$\sum_{n=0}^{12} 5(3^{n-1})$

sum(seq(5*3^(N-1),N,0,12,1))

sum( := List Math 5:

seq( := List Ops 5:

List := 2nd Stat

3. Thank you very much, but do you know any of the menus that the sum and seq functions are under? I can find them in the catalog, but it's a pain. Also, what button has a comma? I can find that one too under the catalog.

Since I know that the menu structure of a TI84 is more than chaotic I've mentioned in my previous post where you can find the menu items to build the necessary formula:

sum( := List Math 5:

seq( := List Ops 5:

List := 2nd Stat
sum( := List Math 5: means: You'll find the sum( command under LIST (=2ND STAT) --> MATH --> 5:

5. Ok, thanks for the clarification.
