Need help finding rate of pay

Edith worked 47 hours during a week for which her gross remuneration was $426.22. Based on a regular workweek of 40 hours and overtime payment at time-and-a-half regular pay, what is Edith's hourly rate of pay?

I would appreciate it so much if someone would help me out with this because I am completely stuck. Thanks so much.

Firstly, you got 40 regular hours. So we'll call a regular hour x

Then we also have 7 overtime hours. Which is worth 1.5x

    So:
    40(x) + 7(1.5x) = 426.22

    I find x = 8.44
