Need Help!
I don't completely understand this.

multiply and simplify

36y^2 * 3y-12
3y^2-24y+48 6y

here is what I understand

(36y^2)(3y-12)
(3y^2-24y+48)(6y)

(36y^2)3(y-4)
3(y^2-8y+16)(6y)

what do I do next if I am correct?

You are correct so far.

Well, we can see we can cross-out the 3 on top and bottom to get

$\frac{(36y^2)(y-4)}{(y^2-8y+16)(6y)}$

Let's try to cross-out the 6y on the bottom:

$\frac{(6y)(6y)(y-4)}{(y^2-8y+16)(6y)}$

$\frac{(6y)(y-4)}{(y^2-8y+16)}$

We can factor y^2-8y+16 to get (y-4)^2

$\frac{(6y)(y-4)}{(y-4)^2}$

We can cross out the (y-4) on the bottom and top

$\frac{6y}{y-4}$

And that's as far as we can go.
