Finding Intercepts
Find the x, and y, intercepts for
f(x)= x^25x +5
I have the y intercept as (0,5)
the x intercept is where I am having a problem
(5)+or sqrt of 5^24(1)(5) / 2(1)
then I calculated that into
5 + or the sqrt of 25 +40/2
then I calculated that into
5 + or sqrt of 45/2
That is were I get stuck, am I on the right path so far? if not please tell me where I have gone wrong?
Thanks.

hi Brama Bull
f(x)=x^25x+5
for y intercept put x=0
so ew get
f(x)=00+5
hence y intercept is at y=5
now for x intercept put f(x)=0 so
x^25x+5=0
x=(5+sqrt[5])/2
hence there are two x intercepts
one at x=(5+sqrt[5])/2 other at x=(5sqrt[5])/2
