    f(-2)=-4 and f(5)=1. Find (f)x

I feel I'm thinking way to hard about this one!

f is a linear function? If it is so than f(x)=ax+b.

    Then, f(-2)=-4\Rightarrow -2a+b=-4

    f(5)=1\Rightarrow 5a+b=1

Now you have to solve the system to find a and b.
